Practical services

The first visit allows us to discuss your goals, assess your garden, and identify opportunities for improving biodiversity. Following the visit, we’ll provide a quotation for any work or services you wish to book.

This includes a range of garden maintenance and improvement tasks, including pruning, weeding, planting, mulching, soil restoration, border maintenance, compost management, urban meadow creation, pest and disease management, and more. No space is too small, too shady, or too difficult.

Gardens change throughout the year. Spring and autumn visits help keep your garden thriving by carrying out seasonal tasks such as dividing plants, sowing seeds, planting bulbs, mulching, pruning, and preparing habitats for wildlife.

Pollinator-friendly planting is only one part of supporting insects and birds as, like us, wildlife also needs a place to live and overwinter. This service includes creating discrete log piles and standing deadwood, brash piles, small ponds, nesting features, simple rockeries, pollinator planting, and more.

Healthy gardens need healthy soil, and to get healthy soil, you need to supply it with organic matter. We can set up your composting system including sourcing bin/s, explain how to maintain it including correct ‘green’ and ‘brown’ ratios, and inoculate it with some healthy starter compost.

No space is too small to help insects! So even if you only have a balcony or courtyard, we can design, source, and plant containers with pollinator-friendly planting suited to your space.

Advice services

We’ll assess your garden’s current ecological value and provide practical, tailored recommendations to improve biodiversity. After our initial assessment visit, we’ll provide a report detailing the strengths of your current setup and some suggestions for improvement. These may include changes to maintenance, habitat creation, planting suggestions, composting, or seasonal management, depending on your garden and your goals.

If you love gardening but lack the confidence or knowledge to start, we can help. We will teach you the skills you need to transform your garden into a haven for wildlife by working together for as many sessions as you need/want.

Practical advice informed by ecological research for garden design, maintenance, and/or landscaping businesses looking to integrate more ecological practices into their work. Whether your clients are asking for greater biodiversity or you want to improve the ecological value of your services, we can help.

A note on pricing:
